About Me

Hmmm...what is there to say about me? Well, let's start with my background. I graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design in 2000 with a degree in computer animation. Ringling was a fantastic school! Our curriculum was heavily focused on good, solid art and design principles. That is why most graduates from there go on to work for some of the best studios in the nation.

Right after college, I worked for Nintendo on the Metroid Prime video game. I HATED it. There was too much testosterone in the studio. I was one of only two women on staff, and video games just wasn't for me.

After that, I moved to Atlanta to be closer to my sister. There, I worked on a computer animated feature film called Delgo. Too bad, funding didn't go through and it never made it to screen. I really enjoyed my job working there and learned SO MUCH about computer animation.

While working there, I started to film and edit weddings on the side, and got great fulfillment out of it. So, when the studio laid us off, I was able to jump right into the video production business. I've been doing it ever since. I started out as Video Scrapbooks Atlanta, and just recently changed the name to Artworks Video to more accurately reflect my work and style.

After I gave birth in 2003, I wanted to step back a little bit to enjoy being a mother. I had no idea what I was in for! I LOVE being a mother to my little girl! At 21 months of age, she was diagnosed with Motor Planning Disorder, developmental Apraxia of Speech, and Sensory Integration Disorder. We went through months of tests and evaluations to see if she was autistic. In the end, they couldn't call her "autistic" per se, but she has a Pervasive Developmental Disorder. She has been in speech and occupational therapy since around 24 months of age. It's a constant challenge figuring out what is best for her. She is making wonderful progress and hopefully by the time she enters kindergarten, she can be "mainstreamed".

I've been designing since March of 2007, and loving every minute of it! Recently I became an independent designer for Scrap Outside the Box. I've just gotten started, but already I feel like it is going to be a great community!
